How to Set Up Your Seed Protection
This guide walks you through setting up your offline seed phrase protection correctly and safely. Please read all steps carefully before you begin.
- 1
-
Make sure your device is secure.
Use a trusted computer or phone, fully updated, and free of suspicious apps or browser extensions. - 2
-
Choose the plan that best fits your needs.
Subscription options differ by duration and included features.
Important: For security reasons, plans can’t be renewed. Long-term reuse increases exposure.
When your plan ends, purchase a new setup to generate a new unique dictionary pair. - 3
-
What you’ll receive after payment.
Once your payment is confirmed, you’ll get two unique dictionaries created specifically for you: one for encoding and one for decoding.
These dictionaries are never stored on our servers, and no one else will receive the same dictionaries — this ensures your setup remains unique and secure. - 4
-
Print your dictionaries and keep them offline.
- Do not take photos of the dictionaries.
- Do not email, text, or share them with anyone.
- Do not encode your seed phrase directly from the screen.
- Do not use page search (CTRL+F) — it may speed up the process, but it increases the risk of exposure. - 5
-
Encode your seed phrase.
Use the Encoding Dictionary to replace each word in your seed phrase with its matching entry. Write the encoded phrase down offline only — never as a photo or file. - 6
-
Verify the encoded result.
Check your work using the Decoding Dictionary to ensure the encoded phrase decodes back to exactly your original seed phrase. This step ensures accuracy. - 7
-
Destroy the originals.
After verification, destroy the original seed phrase and the Encoding Dictionary. Keeping either increases risk. - 8
-
Store securely and separately.
Keep your Decoding Dictionary and your encoded phrase in different, secure locations.
Here are a few recommended ways to store your Decoding Dictionary securely:
- A numbered tamper-evident security bag (with anti-resealing protection) can help you detect whether your Decoding Dictionary has been compromised.
- Storing your dictionary in a bank safe deposit box not only helps protect it from theft, but also gives you valuable time — increasing your chances to respond safely in the event of a forced access attempt.
